Falling to Pieces BLOG TOUR and GIVEAWAY!

Title: Falling to Pieces
Author: Jamie Canosa
Received: By author

I know for a fact that there is not a book by Jamie Canosa that I have not liked. I can say faithfully that I love every book that she has written and Falling to Pieces is no exception. Jamie is a great talent in the indie book world because she is successful at writing real characters. So real that Jade and Kiernan's story made me cry. Canosa offers a pure look into the world of a girl like Jade, someone who seems so strong but is scared on the inside. Her inner dialogue is remarkable and while reading I was able to go to a dark place that unfortunately people go to who deal with low self esteem, verbal abuse and family alcoholism, plus most important I was able to understand it. Kiernan and Jades story starts out with an adorable memory that develops into a real friendship. They face quite a few obstacles that offer great amounts of drama and hope.
I think Falling to Pieces will satisfy audiences who love Sara Dessen, Tom Leveen, and Morgan Matson. It has authentic insight that will offer readers a chance to see how alcoholism can tamper with other lives and what someone like Jade needs to conquer it. Falling to Pieces also shows the value of life and how to recognize what is most important and special about each day of it. I plead with readers to read Falling to Pieces and share it with everyone. It's so incredibly special and will definitely make any reader a devoted fan of Jamie Canosa.

Suffering the bitter tongues of her alcoholic mother and cruel boyfriend, Jade struggles just to look at herself in the mirror. She hates her life, her insecurities, her ineptitudes, but most of all . . . Jade hates herself. She wants nothing more than to disappear, and everyone seems happy to let her. Until Kiernan Parks moves back into town.

Jade’s been crushing on him ever since kindergarten, when his family moved away. But now he’s back, and looking better than ever.
Hiding is a way of life for Jade, but Kiernan insists on uncovering the real girl he’s sees trapped inside her. On drawing her out of her shell, and showing her that she is someone worthy of love.

Together, they fight back the darkness she’s living in. But when they finally step into the light, will the secret Kiernan’s been trying to keep buried destroy Jade, once and for all?

For some people, happy endings are a fairytale.

Jade cuts through the middle of insecurity and strength. She opens the window of the population of young teens who have to deal with a parent who suffers from alcoholism and the ramifications it can have on family. Jade could have left her mother if she really wanted to but she stays and takes the abuse her mother gives because she does love her. She loves her enough to pick her up from a bar and help her to bed safely. I thought it was wonderful of Kiernan's mother to step in and help Jade with this problem. I mean it really did deserve a standing ovation and it's what more people should try to do if they have the courage that Kiernan's mom had. With all of Jade's insecurities I was never irritated by her, instead I understood and connected with her.

Kiernan I feel serves the readers intention to want to help Jade. Jis best quality is his persistence.
He doesn't give up on Jade and when readers find out what he is hiding from her they will fully understand his reasoning. He challenges Jade to think better of herself because he cares so much for her. Once Kiernan's family came into the picture I understood where he got his strength. His family sets an example of what Jade longs for from her own mother. After Kiernan's secret is out I worried if Jade would be okay and was pleased how Jamie wrote it.

My favorite part of Falling to Pieces was when Jade gives Kiernan the most amazing and thoughtful gift. It touched my heart because it was something that was personal to Jade that made her step out of her shell. The best gifts are not always from a store and what Jade gives to Kiernan is something I think couples should try to do more often with each other. I will leave the mystery gift at that.

Kiernan and Jade's story is beautifully written and really did bring me to the point of tears. Every character is strong and much needed to tell this story of love, family and friendship. I highly recommend this read to people who like to read strong contemporary fiction about real life issues.

I hear Kiernan when I listen to this song. Through out the book I always remember him telling Jade to call him, no matter what if she needed his help. I wanted to pick so many other songs but felt they gave the gave the book away. BTW this is my all time favorite song of Kings of Leon.

Jamie Canosa is a full time author of YA/NA literature, which she absolutely loves. When she’s not writing or spending time with her family, she can usually be found with her nose in a book. She currently resides in Upstate NY with her husband, and their three crazy kids . . . plus the cat, the bird, and the rabbit.
